Research & Planning 18/20:
This student worked consistently well throughout the entire production, often a step ahead of other students. Subsequently there is excellent research into similar texts and a target audience. The student's organisation of models, location and props was excellent. There is strong evidence of drafting and good care has been taken in the presentation of the research and planning work. Time management of the production was excellent.
Text 60/60:
A truly outstanding piece of work from a dedicated, keen and enthusiastic candidate. All that have seen this artefact have been unable to offer anything more which could be added/changed with some suggestions actually hindering the ‘look’ of the piece! Images are well selected and used, with the candidate using his skill in Photoshop to enhance all the images, bringing them into the forefront of the audience’s thoughts. The typography used throughout adds to the images creating a sense of branding and genre whilst still maintaining style and appeal. The ideas are excellent and clearly exhibit a high level of creativity and ability, we really can see little else this candidate could have done! Top marks awarded for the finish as much as anything, this really does look like a music magazine.
Evaluation 13/20:
The evaluation proved to be the more challenging aspect of the course for this hardworking student. He has shown a sound understanding of issues around audience, institution, technology, representation and forms and conventions in relation to music magazines. The student has demonstrated understanding of development between the preliminary task and main production. Effective communication of the evaluation via a range of digital formats in the Blog is impressive.
