Research & Planning 17/20:
The students worked consistently well on all aspects of the research and planning work throughout the course. There is excellent research into similar texts and target audience. Organisation of the production was well managed and there is strong evidence of drafting and work in progress. Time management was impressive as was use of digital technologies in the presentation of work.
Text 46/60:
This student has worked well on this production piece, showing proficient skill in the framing of shots and material that is appropriate for the task. The student has demonstrate some sound skill in using Photoshop to manipulate images to good effect. The integration of text and images is very good and the student shows a clear understanding of the conventions of layout and composition in music magazines. This students strengths clearly lie in her impressive use of language and register; the double page spread reads like the real thing. A simple yet effective text.
Evaluation 16/20:
The student has shown a sound understanding of issues around audience, institution, technology, representation and forms and conventions in relation to music magazines. The student has also demonstrated a very good understanding of development between the preliminary task and main production. This student has communicated the evaluation questions clearly and effectively, utilizing a good range of formats. There is a clear account of key choices made in the production of this work as evident in the presentation of work in progress. All in all a solid evaluation.
